Well we're slowly finishing up our Science unit about Farms.
As part of this unit, I used this adorable 3D Life Cycle activity created
by Robin Sellers
Aren't they adorable?
The kids really enjoyed making them.
(and I think they learned something too)
First I read the story It's Pumpkin Time by Zoe Hall. This book is great for showing the stages of the lifecycle. The pictures are vivid and detailed.
But I also wanted to read the kids a book that had actual photographs of the stages.
So this book by Melvin and Gilda Berger worked great.
Then we coloured our own life cycles and assembled the pumpkins.

I found this adorable witch painting idea from Art Proejcts for Kids.
I'm sorry that it took me so long to get these posted. I actually need to take them down and put up my Remembrance Day art now. I'm only a week or so behind right?
Here's a closeup of a few of them.
And a few of my favourite.
Last week we had a lot of fun painting these tiny little pumpkins that my colleague picked up for the kids.
I found the idea on pinterest. I changed the eyes to these enormous googly eyes that I found in my stash and painted the pumpkins with acrylic paint and voila!!!!
Here's a close up of two of them.
